WANT TO SELL AT THE BERKELEY FLEA MARKET?

The Berkeley Flea Market is held in the parking lot of the Ashby BART Station.

The vendor spaces approximately 8 feet wide by 21 feet deep.

The fee is $25.00 per space per day.

REGULATIONS

You may sell at the Berkeley Flea Market without a seller's permit twice a year if you are selling household goods.

Otherwise, you will need a seller's permit from the State Board of Equalization (BOE). The permit is free and the BOE will also send you a self reporting form for sales tax each quarter of the year.

WARNING: The following may not be sold, displayed or given away at the Flea Market: Food, beverages or alcoholic beverages-drugs or drug paraphernalia--firearms and/or ammunition--stolen merchandise or materials-exploding devices of any kind, including firecrackers and poppers--pets or other live animals--any items misrepresented by the seller in any way--play guns or weapons of any kind to a minor--"adult" materials may not be displayed where they are accessible or visible to minors.

The Berkeley Flea Market does not permit counterfeit merchandise to be sold on this site. We want all to understand that it is against Federal Law to sell pirated VHSs, DVDs, CDs, and other mechandise that constitutes a copyright infringment.

Thursdays 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM

Office open 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on the last Thursday of the month

Fridays 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM

Saturdays 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM (Note: Office closes at 2:30 PM on the second Saturday of each month)

Sundays 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM

SIGN-UP PROCESS

On the Sign Up day, which is the last Thursday of the month, we will open at 10:00 AM. Please do not line up outside the office before 10:00 AM! Holding spaces in line is prohibited, also NO lawn chairs please!!! Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Waiting List Procedure

Due to the overwhelming demand for spaces, we do not have any advance reservations available. The waiting list system is the best we can do in response to the high demand.

We have a waiting list for each day of the month that is available to sign starting on the last Thursday of the month 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Note: We have noticed that the waiting list is full by 1:00 p.m.

  1. Please determine what days or days you would like to sell, and place your name on those days on the list if it is not full. Please do not put your name on every single day of the month unless you intend on coming.

  2. On the day(s) that you would like to sell, you MUST be at the office at 7:00 AM when we call the names on the list. If you are not here when we call the list, you will lose your place in line.

  3. When your name is called on the list be sure to let us know you are here. Everyone on the list will be helped in the order they are on the list.

  4. When signing the list, please print your name so that it can be read.

  5. Once in line, please stay in line. No one is responsible for your position in line. Objects can not be used to hold your space in line.

  6. One signature per page per person.
